They're fun if you want to contact people you don't usually talk to because it's easier to approach people through the computer, without the awkwardness some social interactions entail. Facebook is great for sending out information to alot of people at once. But, MySpace and Facebook users can get a little obsessive. Sometimes kids become so obsessed that they live their lives on the computer and lose social skills. That's bad.

I agree with Scott that things can sometimes get very frustrating, but, it's continually improving! It's really exciting to see how rapidly technology develops. \nTechnology has obviously allowed us to branch out into the world, but it has also somewhat isolated us. We sit in front of our computer\/tv screens a lot more than we spend person-to-person time with our family\/friends. We've definitely gotten lazy, no doubt about it. Of course, with cell phones, AIM, and various social networking sites (myspace, facebook), we can reach our friends a lot easier and faster. Technology has its ups and downs.
